Jerry Inman
Jerry Inman, a Montana native, began painting the landscape in early high school. After receiving his Bachelors of Science in Art Education, he spent 7 years teaching in the Great Falls public schools. He then moved to Absarokee and began his painting career. He now lives in Billings.
"I have always been fascinated by the way atmosphere, lighting, and weather can turn a mundane scene into a dramatic eye popping subject for a painting. Like a shaft of light streaming across the ground, the color of a tree mass that is illuminated by the first rays of sunlight, or, the way the sun peeking from under a cloud on the horizon accentuates the objects it hits." His paintings explore these and other effects of nature.
He has participated in one man shows and numerous group shows throughout the United States, including Arts for the Parks, Oil Painters of America, and the Pastel Society of America.
Jerry's honors include Award of Merit for Landscape at Arts for the Parks in Jackson, Wy., purchase award for the National Parks Foundation, Best of Show at the National Western Art Show and Auction in Ellensburg, Wa., and the Trailside Gallery Award for Best and Brightest in Scottsdale, Az.
Jerry's work can be found in Billings, Mt. at Q's Art, in Big Sky, Montana at the Creighton Block Gallery, and in Red Lodge, Montana at the Beartooth Gallery
